Using Autoreposnders

Hi,

I currently use Aweber as a autoresponder for the frogging emails but have noticed recently that a few people i enter after they have requested a DVD don't confirm even though I put in the optin email that they have recieved it as they requested the DVD via my website or email address. Anyone have this problem now and then and do you reckon its worth just phoning those ones up instead.

Would be interesting to know other people's convertions. I don't have the form on my webpage directly linked to aweber as i am not that technically minded its just a basic site, that way the lead would recieve the confiirmation email straight away but it hasn't been a problem before.

I think the problem is those in the internet marketing world understand confirmation e-mails and double opt-in and all that malarkey but the general public don't. They just don't get why they should effectively ask again for the information they just asked for, and I don't blame them!

I don't use AWeber but I assume it takes people to a thank you page. Are you able to customise that so that it tells people they will get a confirmation e-mail and this is to protect them from spam etc? Or does it already do that? I use GetResponse and send people to a thank you page on my own site. Very basic but it means I can say what I like on there. Setting it up is a bit like building an MFI wardrobe. You need to make sure you have part C before you attach A to B ...

Thanks for your reply, it does say in the confirmation email why they are recieving it. That they requested info from my website biz4all.co.uk and my email address. I also have put my name in there also.

I don't know how to do the website thing, i have free hosting with my hosting company but wouldn't know where to start. Will have to look into this at a later stage as i don't have the time at the moment.

If anyone has a template i could use it would be appreciated if all it need was my aweber code put into the html. Would have to learn how to upload it but will try and have a go at this soon as my page is looking a bit dated now.
