How many hits vs players

it looks like I'm geeting plenty of hits on my page, but I'd like to know no average what is the hits:players ratio ???

the landing page I'm using is the main 'smarter way to win' one.

It rather depends on how you are getting your hits, if they are targeted, for instance coming from business cards you would expect a far larger conversion than if you were getting hits from PPC for instance.

I am using ppc but very targeted.

I'm just interested in people's averages so I can plan ahead etc.

As Sue says thw question really is akin to how long is a piece of string as everyone uses different methods to attract traffic.

I personally spent a lot of time in my early days dissecting these figures and trying to be more analitical about it but in the end realised that it was far from an exact science and my time was better spent actually trying to attract the traffic. I cant actually even remember the last time I even looked at the hit numbers to my site.

However others may have a different perspective on this which would be interesting to hear as I could be well off the mark with this and missing a trick

There was talk a few years ago about VWD introducing a tracking system so you knew which keywords etc converted. It was introduced for a short while and then the links were hidden.

I've not heard if VWD have considered bring this back, it would defo help if they did!

I spend my time working on getting people to the site.

Is the norm supposed to be about 0.5 - 1%

For my whole group I've approx 0.5%

Personal I've 0.28% ( at moment )

Like mentioned though, full time job trying to track that one down.

So I guess that 200 targeted visits should amount to just one player then ?

Just doing the maths to see if ppc would be worth it or not.

ive had 450 targetted visitors in my 2 months since joining and have 8 players and 0 affiliates.
interested to hear everyone else's ratio
