Get a Domain!
Don't always rely on your Affiliate links. I hate the thought of losing a sign-up because someone mistyped or couldn't be bothered to type the whole link for an offline advert. Equally there is the danger online of people copy and pasting your link and chopping the end off - people do weird things on the web!
So one approach I use is a web domain that redirects to my Affiliate link. If you visit Euromillions Syndicate - Win the UK Lotto and Euromillions Lotteries you will see what I mean. No complicated link to type, but you arrive via my Affiliate link all the same.
You can pick anything you want, so long as it is available. Stick with a 'something.co.uk' or a 'something.com' as the weirder endings are just as likely to get mistyped as a .com and send someone to the wrong site!
Obviously the shorter the better to be remembered and easily typed. Try typing your proposed domain name, or better still, write it down and ask someone else to type it and see if they find it easy.
Your own domain name will cost you as little as £6.50 for 2 years. And it's incredibly easy to do. Lots of places do domains cheaply, but I use 123reg At about £6.50 for 2 years it's pretty hard to beat - plus you can also then use <anything>@yourdomain as email addresses too.
Also I read somewhere that nearly 50% of the population don't know how to get the - sign, so now I don't go for uk-lotto-winner.co.uk etc
All you do is set-up the domain to redirect to your normal VWD link, and any email to your normal email address. Bingo. You can then use that link wherever you like. (Feel free to ask if you need any assistance setting this up)
