Just got a text from Elottbidder telling me that the unique lowest bid is now between so much and so much and asking me to bid again.
Only ever used the free bid but i imagine everyone gets this?

Could be or it could be that they are encouraging all to bid more, like the emails when send prospect with regards to rollovers etc.

It does seem to me that most people will wait until just before the closing date then bid as early bids are unlikely to be unique. Think the comp should be shorter as then a flurry of bids would happen more often.

I wonder if these messages are being sent out as its close to end of this business cycle and to encourage more bids for commission purposes. I have just searched through Autotrader and can't find a Merc anywhere for between 0.79p and £2.18... :shock:

all i was thinking is that 79p and £2.18 are really low considering how long it has been going now. Unless everyone has bidded high because they know the end of the comp is ages away

Just noticed the text I got simply said to send CAR+ bid to 80039, no mention of the code, is this because they automatically link all bids from that phone number to the original members code?

Yeah Glen, bids are tagged to the phone numbers.
All my bids are a lot higher than these as I reckoned on their being hundreds of low bids so thought I would go higher! There's still 15 for june and another 15 in July yet so guess I've still plenty of time to play them :D

I got this text too.
Weird thing is when i used my free bid of £3.41 the feedback i got was that there was no unique bids below my bid and obviously mine wasn't unique.
There are 2 possibilities then
Firstly that my feedback was wrong
or
They are trying to get more bids on the sly so to speak.
