World Cup Winner

I'm feeling a bit annoyed about this part of the site. When I placed my bids (£6.47) on the final day then I got a screen saying that 0 unique bids are lower than this - so obvioulsy I place a few bids just above this to try and get the prize, but every one is a duplicate.

Now I read that the winning bid was £1.40, how can that be?

Re: World Cup Winner

It is misleading, my lowest unique was £6 something. It says no more below but there must have been quite a few unique bids below mine that others had. I understand it much better now but it has cost me finding out.

Does this not mean that there were no unique bids below yours that were available. Had u bid £1.40 then that persons bid would have been cancelled?

Not sure if thats what you are meaning?

Re: World Cup Winner

When you place your bid the screen tells you if there are any unique bids available below yours, ie amounts that nobody has yet bid, it doesn't tell you if anyone else has a unique bid below yours. I think it should tell you both so that you have the opportunity to try to cancel out lower bids.

Re: World Cup Winner

Ah, that makes sense. So there were no unique bids below Andrews £6.47 when he bid, but there were unique amounts still available with no bids.

Re: World Cup Winner

Other way round, there were plenty of unique bids below Andrews but they were all taken by other people, there were no more unique bids available
