Closing Stages of HD TV Auction 6/10/06

Hi everybody,

Ive been playing the HD TV Auction for 1 hour. Knocked off the ACTUAL lowest unique bid twice and I now know for sure it is between 6.63 and 7.52. However, Im done for this one...spent too much this month on this particular auction. Good luck if you decide to have a flutter in the last 2 hours. Closes at 11pm.

Paul

I bet you can't guess who won the Bravia...? I'll give you a clue:
he also won the JBL Home Cinema, Xbox, Ipod 30GB & World Cup Tickets!

Well done Michael, you are the eLotbidder king!

I agree. It may attract negative press if one person wins everything. Can you imagine the Testimonials/Winners page! However michael must have system. I suspect :

1. Either he plays Elotbidder every day and spends a LOT of money (well i say hundreds ensuring he wins a TV at thousands of pounds or
2. He plays to the death at the end of the auction.

I tried number 2 this evening and spent £30. I actually tracked and found the lowest UNIQUE bid and knocked it off TWICE but didnt want to commit to more money to play on. Keeping a spreadsheet of what bids you place definately allows the lowest unique bid to be tracked better. I have a spreadsheet which I will post here during the week.

Anyway, congrats Michael! U truly are the elot bidder king. (well apart from the guy who won the merc, obviously!) Hehe!

VWD should put a limit on the volume of late bids, e.g. you can only have 1 bid every hour towards the closing time. There's no real skill involved in the way he's playing, just obsessive tracking and excessive bidding at the end of the process (that's if he's even doing it manually - though I presume software bidding would disqualify you)! Needs a rapid change of rules or it's going to die fast...

no more bidding 4 me either

I too have dropped my monthly subscription to the bidder. Put a lot of money into it and kept getting knocked off in the last hour. It's like playing against a poker bot so no more for me.

Very Very Dissapointed

Very few people being positive :( thanx for the congrats and good wishes from people but I dont understand people giving up on the elotbidder site, its an amazing way to get more people involved and it shows that you can win (even if I have won a few too many sooo close together). dont give up on it its a fair competition and I have played it fairly. no need to just drop out of it and the more powerfull marketing types should find a great angle for this for sure!
