Lloyds TSB scam

Got a message earlier today from a bunch of con merchants claiming to be Lloyds TSB.

The phone call was as follows:

them: Good morning sir I am calling from the Lloyds TSB credit management department. Before we proceed could you please give me your name, address, date of birth and the 8-digit account number on the front of you debit card

me: sorry? what is this regarding?

them: it is regarding management of your Lloyds TSB account sir

me: So if you want me to talk to you about my account, why do you need my account details?

them: For security purposes sir

me: Well I think that is slightly strange you calling me and asking me for my details? Can I have your details?

them: .....No sir

me: Well if I can't have yours, you can't have mine?

them: but sir this is a very important issue I need to discuss with you.

me: ok....well in that case I will check this number (the number on my mobile phone screen) and contact you back.

them: please do not call this number. You need to call.....(long pause before reading out the official Lloyds TSB number)

I then just put the phone down on him!

I called back the number on my screen and lo and behold, a voice mail message.

"This is Lloyds TSB - We will attempt to contact you again"

Bloody con merchants!

I think everyone should ring the number and tell them what they think of them.....I left a nice message myself!

the number is: 01273 743 574

I get bear e-mails from so called LloydsTSB but never had a call yet... thanks for the heads up on that one! however i would have handled it more or less the same as i don't give out all that to a random call without prove first!

Good on ya... i would of added go and kiss my a** before i put the phone down though hehe
