Gambling - TV & Radio Adverts

You may have come across this news announcement today:-

"Under new laws which come into force this weekend, betting shops, casinos and gambling websites will be allowed to advertise their services on UK television & radio. The ads will be subject to strict rules including a 9pm watershed".

If it was possible for VWD to obtain permission to advertise e-Lottery on TV or radio in the future, do you feel that by doing so, it would help us affiliates to recruit at a faster pace? By being regularly featured on broadcast media, would more of our prospects be converted and hence, sign-up?

Alternatively would you prefer if VWD themselves did not advertise e-Lottery and instead, left it to independent members to do so...using our own URL ?

Your thoughts please...........

MLM still remains illegal to advertise on TV as far as I am aware... Therefore for vwd this new rule means nothing.

Elottery would be able to advertise for players on Tv , Radio. Yes we all believe that being an affiliate is a good thing.

But there are advantages to just advertising and being a player. And ccan always promote the affiliate side of the business after they people join vwd.

I can't see that VWD would go to the expense of TV advertsing to promote the business, that is what they pay us to do.

Is this a recent thing? When kleeneze went all MLM, they had a TV advertisement, they didnt run it for long, just to get the first few people into the MLM side.

Not sure how effective the adverts on TV would be as you would need a MASSIVE budget to do it, as you would need constant exposure to get a return, as well as company approval and production costs.
