free syndicate places - removed!

I've just received this email.

You have no doubt heard about the new European legislation, which came into force in the UK on May 26th 2008.

We are sorry to have to tell you that due to these new laws, we now have to withdraw the “free syndicate places” we previously offered as part of the “reward” process of the old e-lottery plan.

The previous commission plan had to be updated due to some compliance issues, one of which was the “free syndicate places”. The new e-lottery commission plan has resolved all of the compliance issues, but did not address the question of “free syndicate places”. There is currently some disagreement amongst regulatory authorities and between different countries in the EU as to the application of the new law to free offers. Unfortunately, because we operate our offers and promotions across many EU member countries, we have to take a conservative legal approach. This is why you may see other UK-only operations continuing to use such offers in their programmes while ours have stopped.

Unfortunately, the “free syndicate places” will need to be withdrawn during the first week of the next Business Cycle (in the week starting 7th of July 2008). You can see all your current syndicate places by logging into your Back Office or checking your Membership cards. Any syndicate cards with ‘Free Syndicate’ on them will be removed and will no longer be displayed in your back office.

Your main syndicate places will always be displayed at the up of your Back Office. If you are unsure exactly which places will be affected, please email admin@vwdmail.com before Monday the 7th of July so that we can assist before these places are removed.

Although this is not “great news” for those members who currently have “free syndicate places”, this legislation has allowed us to improve the commission plan in many other ways. We can report that with the new e-lottery plan it is now very simple to achieve promotion up the plan, thus giving access to deeper levels of commission... And, at the higher levels in the plan there is now “Global Revenue Share”, a new addition to the commission plan which allows qualifying members to earn a commission from the whole of the e-lottery business, not from just those members in their own teams.

If you have any questions about this announcement or any other part of the commission plan, please email Member Support.

When I first heard that they wouldn't give anymore free places, I thought that we would be able to keep those that we had before the 26 may.

On well I only had 2 to loose.

yeh I loose 2 as well, I was also under the impression that we would keep the one's that we had, just not be issued with new places in the future.
Looks like we are to be disappointed with this...

After all my hard work I've just had four free syndicate places go down the pan. I'm just waiting to see how the new pay plan reduces my next commission cheque after four years of concentrating on the old system of introducing affiliates rather than players.

It would appear that this strategy has now worked against me, and after being told at last month's BBW that "our business just got better", I'm stuggling to see how this can be true.

Can anyone explain this to me?

Wait until pay day I would say.

And all depends if your affiliates are doing anything ?

If they are not, I would try and persuade them to cancel affiliate position and become a player only.

They would save themselves £9.99 a year by doing that and make your position a lot better.

Yup such a shame I lost a few freee syndicates too. Such a shame, the company seems to be removing all incentives, however they have informed me that they are working on new ones.

They also mention GRS which is a nice bonus for those who can get it.

Hope to see some new incentives soon.

hi

They need to to create incentives for new people in this business before they lose a LOT of people.

It is a shame gary, I think Head office will loose quite a few. Proposed incentive should already be in place.

Whilst having a few extra shots at the lottery is nice, I don't think it was a big incentive..
I prefer working my way up to the Global Revenue Share. Thats a great incentive for me to work at building my team up..
I don't think losing the free syndicates will affect any of the geniune affiliates. And I certainly don't think VWD will lose anyone through it ! .
