I've just seen VWD are creating a page for uVme similar to eVo where you can't see the movie without pre-registering first. It's better than the uVme.biz page as we know it now. There is way to much info on the uVme.biz site, but I think this capture page may increase the signup rate now.

We just have to wait for them to make it live.

the address is

uVmebiz.virtualworlddirect.com

Direct link to capture page means prospects don't have to enter your guest login number; uvmebiz.virtualworlddirect.com/g.asp?m=xxxx

I don't think it's live yet though

Landing Page

Managed to get to what looked like a new landing page this morning - ONCE. Then it wouldnt show again - time out issues.

Big systems is what I do for a living - this is beginning to look worrying. It is either a bandwidth issue or they dont have sufficient servers to handle the traffic.

I hope this gets sorted soon - I have given out hundreds of the z-cards and it looks like egg on my face.

Really unhappy and not very confident about playing games on a site that cant let people in.

Company need to tell us what is going on and when we should start really promoting. I would rather wait a month than have people walk away.

there was an email sent out yesterday -

Hi Pete Brennan,

This is just a courtesy announcement to all our members, to let you know that our programmers are very busy working on the integration of the entire system with the new server framework.

The uVme.biz site is up and running and fully functional; however, there are still some minor bugs which are affecting the smooth running of the system which may cause the website to run slow.

We are working 24/7 to give you an amazing tool, and portal, which will bring you a lot of fun and prosperity in the future.

We know everyone is excited to see and use their back office and we are working continuously to resolve this issue.

Once again, we thank you for your support and patience.

Best Regards

Tom Brodie

I appreciate all this and I know what they are going through - been there, done it, got the blood stained T shirt.

In my opinion it may still be better to put a holding page (for each of our ids) that loads quickly and has next to nothing but a registration of interest capture form. And run it on a different set of servers. That way we dont end up with people who came, couldnt see and never returned.

Anything to make the propsecting we are all working hard at deliver some returns.

As I say dont mean to moan too much as I really do feel for the techies.

I took the week off work to do some serious UVme promotion! big mistake

As the uVme website keeps giving me the big "V" or reminding me what it was like to be on dial up rather than broadband, its finally beaten me and I am now off out on my bike to get rid of the frustration

Each day I kept thinking things will be better in the morning, I expected some minor probs - well after all we are in pre launch, but it would be much better if things were fixed before they sent out an email saying

"welcome everything is great and working"

I will watch the forum for news when things are actually working
maybe its fixed for next week just in time for me to be back at work ?

Having a rant seems to help but only a little bit

JT

Hi folks,

regarding the re-direct and frame busting tip:
http://www.uvme.biz/g.asp?m=xxxx <--- xxx = your membership number

I tried this kind of thing when the site was working and noticed that I did not see the "welcome from me" text on the page. So be careful that you are still being tracked as the referrer if you use these kinds of shortcuts!

Personally, I have no sympathy for a company that can make amazing videos and stage great events only to completely mess up designing a simple web page. I can't stand the redirecting message that screams "affiliate" and the framed page.

I tried the blog feature and it was obviously completely untested since it had a 100 pixel wide content area. This is supposed to be one of the major elements of the business (the social networking).

The games had better be good!

Think we should all wait until tomorrow and see what happens. Having put an e-mail out to us all stating that all problems will be sorted by tomorrow will hopefully see the end of people's frustration.

Can't see Tom putting something out like this unless he was sure that all problems would defo be resolved.
