whats the secret to the basketball game?

Can anyone tell me the secret to the basketball game??

I've been practicing on it and did a round where I only missed the basket 2-3 times....I think I got 1400 points..... not a bad score I thought....thought it would take some beating......only to find out my opponents score was......

But if you get 2 points (ie 200 points at the end of the game) and you have 3 minutes, then surely its impossible to get more than say 10 shots in a game, which equates to 2000 points??

After all, when you get a basket, you've got to wait about 5-10 seconds for the ball to stop bouncing before you can have another shot from the free throw line.

hmmmm... there must be more to it than simply getting 10 baskets on the trot.
